Apply to BACC’s 2026-2027 Youth Leadership Cohort
BACC’s Youth Leadership Cohort is a year-long program for local high school students that are interested in working in justice, community and preserving Black history.
In weekly meetings, students engage in history and political education to better understand the community around them. Students are encouraged to develop critical thinking skills and awareness of the root causes of issues we as a society face today.
Through capacity trainings, students develop important organizing, advocacy and leadership development skills in order to bring about the change they seek.
Additionally, the Youth Cohort develops presentations and leads outreach with local high schools to share the history of resistance of the Black Graysville community of River Road and increase the active participation of their peers and young people within BACC.
Further, our students develop communications to inform and educate the public through the organization's social media platform. Additionally the Youth Cohort develops a year-long creative storytelling project.
Students who are interested in participating in the 2026-2027 Cohort should email: bethesdaafrcemeterycoalition@gmail.com sharing their interest.
